For this price you can't beat 'em.Sound quality is excellent.I'm not an audiophile, and my hearing isn't good enough to pick up subtle differences between sounds quality and other more expensive headsets (was a Bose owner until I left the dang things on a plane). These do just fine.I use them for playing guitar.listening to music.watching TV occasionally.no complaints. Well made and fold up into a nice compact form factor for travelling. There are lighter phones out there, but these feel good on the head for over an hour, in my experience.
They fold up, come with a bag carry case, and have a 1/4" adapter. Acoustic guitars sound incredible, even listening to Pandora which does not always have the highest quality stream.
Look no further. Quit wasting time.
The best on-ear or over the ear headphones you can buy. Highs sparkle and voices stand out.
Go try them and you will buy them immediately. These Sony headphones show all aspects of the music very accurately, like the mixing engineer intended. Bass is present and defined but not overpowering.
When listening to an iPod/iPhone, these shine, but to hear excellence, listen to these headphones plugged into a good home receiver with a Blu-Ray, SACD, or CD and you'll hear your music like you never have before.A great buy that nobody should pass up. They are very comfortable and I have listened to them for 3 hours straight with only slight fatigue.
The only problem is that with my S9 equalizer bass set at max it gets SOME distortion at volumes of +32. They have great sound, not too bulky, and darn comfortable. I absolutely love these headphones. But then again I don't think there are ANY headphones that can handle that kind of sound output by themselves so I don't hold it against these. I am currently using these with my Cowon S9 so the sound is even further elevated. Listening with these and my S9 is simply addictive. OVERALL these are simply the best you can't go wrong with this purchase. O yea and the packaging is drop-dead sexy.
The MP3 puts out plenty of power to make these louder than earbuds but with great clarity. Have always been happy with Sony products and this is no different. Tired of earbuds, I asked for some decent headphones for Christmas and was told by spouse to find some and put on my wish list. Have several Sennhieser wireless headphones and there is no comparison in sound quality. Am an amateur musician with good ears and these make my collection of CD's (mostly on High Bit MP3 playback) sound amazing. Comfortable to wear, I use them when on my treadmill or elliptical and they stay put. If they made these wireless and with a mic, appropriate device interface, I could live with these for work, play, general communication. Satellite HDTV audio also sounds great, better than my Sony surround sound system speakers when plugged into that device.
I have compared it my other headphones of similar price range such as- Audio Technica ETH ES-7, Bose on-ear headphones, Ultimate ears SuperFi 5pro and it beats them all hands down. It does not color the sound like other consumer grade headphones, which are tuned to boost the bass to please a category of listeners. It was like putting on a reading glass and everything instantly appears so much clearer and in focus. The headphone is quite comfortable to wear for prolonged time. I was never aware of those intricate details in the recording. The super clarity of that headphones gave a new perspective to all of my existing song collections. Bottom line: The clarity of the headphone is astounding. If you like too much bass, then use a graphic equalizer to crank up the bass and this headphone will deliver real floor shaking bass inside your head.
Overall it is quite rugged and does not leak sound. This Sony headphone reproduces sound faithfully like a studio monitor and delivers what the sound engineer intended you to hear. I am sure you will also enjoy this headphone once you try it. Initially I thought 7506 lacks bass response, but I was totally wrong. I was shocked when I first lime listen to it. The ear cushions do not pinch the ear but warms it like a ear muff.
It took me some time to get accustomed to this clarity as my ears were tuned for artificial bass heavy sound of other headphones. As I listened to my music collection alternating between Bose and Sony, I found that MDR-7506 delivers more accurate low frequency and punchy bass than my other headphones. I like its build quality- mostly all metal closed can design, equipped with a thick coiled wire.
